Sameer K. Mehta, MD, FACC
Peripheral/Interventional Cardiology

Dr. Mehta earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois and attended medical school at Southern Illinois School of Medicine, from which he graduated with institutional honors in 1999. Before moving to Colorado in 2008 to join RMCVA, Dr Mehta completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, where he was a resident teacher of the year finalist in 2001. After a research fellowship, he went on to complete fellowships in both cardiology and interventional cardiology. Dr Mehta is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology.
Dr. Mehta is very active in cardiovascular research, and earned first place for clinical research in the 2007 research competition at Mid America Heart Institute during his interventional cardiology fellowship. His specific medical and research interests include complex coronary, peripheral, and structural heart disease interventions. He has published over thirty manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations and is currently active in a number of research studies.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Mehta enjoys playing tennis, as well as golfing and hiking. As a relatively new Coloradan, he has recently started skiing, and can often be found on the slopes during his weekends off.
