Cardiology Consultation
A cardiology consultation is usually requested by your general internist, family doctor or sometimes another specialist or surgeon when he or she wishes to have a cardiac specialist (cardiologist) use his or her expertise to evaluate you.

Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram
Stress echocardiography is a test that uses ultrasound imaging to determine how the heart muscles respond to stress. It is mainly used to diagnose and evaluate coronary artery disease.

Echocardiogram
Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body.

Exercise Stress Test or Treadmill Test
Cardiac stress testing can be useful in identifying partial blockages in your coronary arteries.

Holter and Event Monitors
Ambulatory monitoring (Holter monitoring and event recorders) is done to record a patient’s ECG for a prolonged period of time, on an outpatient basis. The purpose of ambulatory monitoring is to look for evidence of transient cardiac problems.

Nuclear Stress Test
A nuclear stress test measures blood flow to your heart muscle both at rest and during stress on the heart. It’s performed similar to a routine exercise stress test, but provides images that can show areas of low blood flow through the heart and areas of damaged heart muscle.

Vascular Ultrasound Study
Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body.
