Interventional Cardiology
Ashwin Murthy, MD, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University and earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by Cardiology and Interventional/Structural Cardiology Fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Murthy’s clinical interests include performing complex coronary interventions, percutaneous mechanical circulatory support, and structural heart interventions including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) and transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (Mitraclip). Additionally, he has expertise in performing PFO/ASD closure, alcohol septal ablations and left atrial appendage closure (Watchman). He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Echocardiography. Dr. Murthy believes in providing comprehensive, high quality cardiovascular care with a patient and family centered approach.
Dr. Murthy is originally from Colorado, and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, as well as spending time outdoors including running, playing tennis and skiing.
